After a stint at Guilford College, majoring in Business Administration, he turned to his true calling and graduated from William and Mary (Richmond Professional Institute) then part of W&M - now Virginia Commonwealth University with a bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a major in Commercial Art. Burial will follow in Masonboro Baptist Church Cemetery.

Darlene was born on October 23, 1961, in Champion, Ohio, the daughter of Jane and Dan Deneen.
She leaves behind a loving family to continue her legacy which includes 3 daughters, Helen Farmer, Penny Kuebrich, and Sheila Koone; 1 son, John Easley; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; devoted friends and her dog Sarah. A private celebration of her life will be held at the family homestead on April 24th, 2008. Parker nfant son of Lavonda Mckoy of Kelly and Johnny Adams, died Monday, April 28, 2008, at Bladen County Hospital, Elizabethtown. on February 25, 1921 and was the daughter of the late Samuel Marvin Layton Sr. Margaret and her husband George Croft Baltzegar, Jr. After her husbands death in 1953, Margaret continued working with Southern Bell until her retirement in 1982.
